W. H. JONES The Banner, October 22, 1915 Transcribed by Connie Epps Bond September 28, 2006 MRS. W. H. JONES DIED LAST NIGHT Is Survived by Husband, six daughters, and son; funeral today. (From Wednesday’s Banner) Ill since Thursday last, though not believed to be seriously affected, and taken suddenly worse last night, Mrs. William H. Jones, died about 10 o’clock at her home on the Lexington Road, a short distance from the city. The funeral will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 3 o’clock and the interment will be in Oconee cemetery. Mrs. Jones was sixty-six years old. She is survived by her husband, by one son, Mr. F. L. Jones, and by six daughters, Miss Fannie Jones, Mrs. Allie Thurmond, of Atlanta, Miss Nettie Jones, Miss Willie Jones, Miss Mamie Jones, and Mrs. H. T. Carter. She was a loyal member of the Methodist church and devoted to its cause. She was more than a church member – she was a womanly Christian. Many there are who will mourn her going away.
