Mrs. E. F. Kenney Dies; Funeral This Afternoon
Mrs. E. F. Kenney, a well known lady of Athens, died yesterday evening at 7
o'clock at the residence 170 Nantahala avenue.  She was in her 83rd year, and is
survived by one daughter, Mrs. S. V. Prater, of Athens, and one son, Rev. J. N.
Kenney, of San Jose, California.  Eighteen grandchildren also survive, the
following of whom were present at the time of her death: Mrs. Dozier Hawkes,
Mrs. Fred Hamilton, Misses Dela, Susie and Rosa Lee Prater, Frank and John
Prater of Athens, and James Kenney, of Portsmouth, Va.  She is also survived by
a numer of great grandchildren. 

The funeral will be this afternoon at 3:30 at Prospect church, and the services
will be conducted by Rev. Mr. Sears, assisted by Rev. J. V. M. Morris.  The
following will act as pallbearers: Messrs. Fred Bell, B. Dunaway, I. N. Butler,
A. M. Center, T. C. Fowler and Y. F. Cash.
