C. Kirk Died Here Yesterday Funeral will be held Sunday Yesterday afternoon at three o'clock at his home on Park Avenue in this city Mr. J. C. Kirk passed away after a brief illness with pneumonia. Mr. Kirk was also a sufferer fro Bright's disease, but his last illness was that of pneumonia. He took to his bed last Friday and never rallied. Mr. Kirk was at the time of his death 66 years and was a well known and universally esteemed citizen. He was a member of the Congregational Methodist church. During the war between the states Mr. Kirk was a brave Confederate soldier, a member of the 17th Georgia regiment. The deceased is survived by his wife, and eight children by his first wife. His six boys, Messrs. W. H. Kirk, H. F. Kirk, H. C. Kirk, E. S. Kirk, T. C. Kirk and S. R. Kirk will act as pallbearers. The funeral of Mr. Kirk will be held Sunday morning at 11 o'clock near Colbert, Ga and the remains will be interred in the family burial ground there. Mr. Kirk was a loyal mason and the regular Masonic honors will be conferred at his burial. Worshipful Master Capps and the members of Mt. Vernon Loge will be in charge of third part of the funeral services. The regular services will be conducted by Rev. A. J. Sears and Rev. Geo. E. Stone of this city. The Funeral of Mr. J. C. Kirk Will be conducted this morning At 11 o'clock near Colbert. This morning at half past eight o'clock the remains of Mr. J. .C. Kirk will be carried from his home on Park Avenue in this city to the family burial ground near Colbert, GA., where the interment will take place The funeral services will be conducted at the grave by Rev. A. J. Sears and Rev. Geo E. Stone, of this city, and the officers and members of Mt. Vernon Lodge of Masons will performs the Masonic rites of burial. Quite a number of the warm friends of the deceased will escort the remains to their last resting place in Madison County. Mr. Kirk's six sons will act as pallbearers at the funeral of their father. In addition to six sons, Mr. Kirk is survived by two daughters, Mrs. R. R. Summers and Mrs. Howard Epps. In their great bereavement the family have the sympathies of many sorrowing friends.
