Lancaster Rites Otis Glenn Lancaster, of 160 Pine Valley Drive, Athens, Ga., died Wednesday of last week in a local hospital following a brief illness. The funeral was held on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Ricketts, Miller Huckabee and Bill O'conner officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Park. Born in Hall County, he had lived in Athens for 9 years. He held two degrees from the University of Georgia where he was a member of Phi Beta kappa. Until his retirement in 1964, he served as school superintendent of Jefferson County. Prior to that time he had been superintendent of schools in Wrens, Hartwell, Warrenton, Comer, ad Arnoldsville. He was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, the Athens Rotary Club, The Touchdown Club and the American Polled Herford Association. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Hattie Thornton Lancaster; two daughters, Mrs. K. N. Vickery of clemson, S.C., and Mrs. Charlie Forstson of Athens; a sister, Mrs. John Mauldin of Macon; two brothers, Carl Lancaster of Macon and Bela Lancaster of LaGrange; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
