A native of Anderson County, S.C., he was the son of the late John Willie and Lois Elizabeth Poore Manley. He was a deacon and member of the Victory Sunday School Class at Central Baptist Church, and also a member of Central Baptist Church. Mr. Manley was a retired Staff Sergeant from the United States Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Willie Sue Roling Manley, Lexington, S.C.; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Eddie Manley, Colbert, and Michael Manley, Hull; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Steve McElroy, Lexington, S.C.; brothers, Marvin Manley, Williamston, S.C., and Bobby Manley, Madera, Calif.; sisters, Frances Carter, Madera, Calif., Verdelle Sheriff, Greenwood, S.C., and Katie Autry, Pelzer, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 5, at Bernstein Funeral Home. Burial was at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Tim Manley, Nathan Manley, Christopher McElroy, Kyle McElroy, Michael Manley, Jr., Chris Hill, and Brent Danforth. Honorary pallbearers were the Victory Sunday School Class at Central Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church, 720 Danielsville Road, Athens, Ga. 30601.
