M’CURDY Died Monday, Passing Away of a Well- Known Citizen of Athens Monday morning at half past seven o’clock at the home of her son, Mr. J. M. McCurdy, on Waddell street, Mrs. S. R. McCurdy passed away after a lingering illness. Mrs. McCurdy was fifty two years of age at the time of her death and had been a citizen of Athens for a long time. She was a member of the Presbyterian church of this city, having jointed a number of years since. She was greatly beloved by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Mrs. McCurdy leaves three children, Mr. J.M. McCurdy, Mr. J. D. McCurdy, and Mrs. Lee Gurley, to whom the sympathies of all are extended in this hour of bereavement. The funeral was held Tuesday morning at ten o’clock at the residence of Mr. J. M. McCurdy, and was conducted by Dr. J. W. Walden, pastor of the Presbyterian church. The following gentlemen acted as pall-bearers: Messrs. A. W. Vess, W. W. Turner, J. F. Hart, R. C. Orr, J.N. Booth, C. A. Scudder, J. F. Rhodes and J.M. Hodgson.
