Mitchell, Esq., aged 4 years, 10 months and 2 days. This lovely little girl had been suffering with a cold, in common with several of her sisters and brothers, for some little time, but seemed to be as little, perhaps the least affected of any. On Saturday, 14th, she became quite sick, but not sufficiently to alarm her parents, until at 8 o'clock, P. M., when she was seized with a spasm-from which moment, she continued to grow worse, until her decease. To attempt consolation to a sorrowing parent is mockery. None can appreciate a parent's grief, who have not felt a parent's loss. There is a "balm in Gilead," however, whose soothing qualities her bereaved parents know full well, and it must afford comfort to feel, that their amiable little girl has gone to the bosom of that God, who requires them to humble themselves to His decrees, and become even as she was, to be acceptable to Him. "Early, bright, transient, chaste as morning dew, She sparkled, was exhaled and went to Heaven."
