B. Eppes Formerly of Athens Dead in Augusta Sadness came to many hearts here yesterday when the news was received of the unexpected death in Augusta of Mr. Edward Bancroft Eppes, aged 49 years, formerly of this city. He was a son of the late rector of St. Mary's Church here, a brother, of Messrs. Francis, and W. E. Eppes, of this city, and of Miss Martha Eppes. He leaves a wife and one child. The funeral and burial will occur at Clarkesville, Where the family had a summer home, some time today. Mr. Eppes, was an lumnus of the University, member of the class of Gov. Dorsey, which held a great reunion here last month. He was a civil engineer of unusual gifts and success. Some years ago, he lived at Gainesville and was civil engineer and then manager for the Gainesville Midland Railway and other companies in this state. He lived in the west for several years.
