Epps Bond 10/2/2005 Payne, Kate THE FUNERAL OF MISS KATE PAYNE ------ The funeral of Miss Kate Payne was conducted Tuesday morning at eleven o’clock at the First Methodist church, of which she was a devoted member. Many friends gathered at that hour and many were the lovely floral offerings sent as testimony of the esteem in which they held the lovely young girl who had passed away. The choir, consisting of Messrs. J. C. Mell and J.M. Hodgson, Mrs. C.M. Snelling and Miss Jessie Jackson, sang several appropriate hymns, and the services were conducted in a most beautiful and touching manner by Dr. Isaac S. Hopkins, pastor of the church. The interment was in Oconee cemetery. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/clarke/obits/p/payne11620ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.4 Kb
