Sara Pendergrass, 83, of Athens, died Friday, September 1, 2006, at St. Mary’s 
Hospital in Athens.

Born in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Gladys Crow 
Conley. She was a member of East Athens Baptist Church. Mrs. Pendergrass was 
preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Pendergrass.

Survivors include a daughter, Candy Pendergrass, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sons, 
Thomas McElroy, Crawford, and Michael Wayne McElroy, Comer; three sisters; 
eight grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Sunday, September 3, at Athens Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to East Athens Baptist Church.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
