Quite a large number of relatives and friends followed the remains of Major Phinizy to their last resting place by the side of his relatives in Oconee cemetery. The pall-bearers were Messrs, R. W. Lamkin, F. A. Lipscomb, C. G. Griffith, H.H. Linton, J. B. King and E. R. Hodgson. Messrs, W. J. Morton, R. L. Bloomfield, R. L. Moss, J. R. Lyle, G. H. Palmer and W. B. Pruitt acted as an honorary escort. At the grave the regular burial service of the Presbyterian Church was conducted by Rev. J. W. Walden, and the remains of Major Phinizy were consigned to their last resting place.
