Gerald M. Powell

Winterville - Gerald M. Powell died Monday in a local hospital following an 
extended illness.  He was a life-long native of Clarke County.

   The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's 
Witness, Winterville, with the Revs. B. J. Smith and W. L. Dantzler 
officiating.  
Burail will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park.

   Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Barbara Crumley Powell; a daughter, 
Donna Powell, Winterville; two sons, Randy Powell and James Powell, 
Winterville; four sisters, Mrs. Lamar Yarbrough, Athens, Mrs. Carlton 
Barnett, Winder, Mrs Howard Stewart, Kannapolis, N. C. and Mrs. John 
Rodgers, Asheville, N. C.; and a brother, Hershel Powell, Winterville.

   Palllbearers will be Donald Thompson, John Holladay, James Strickland, 
Hinton Wood, Robert Sanders and Preston Wood.

   Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
