Obituary:   Winterville - Ruby Porterfield Tate died December 29, 2010. 
A native of Clarke County, she was the daughter of the late Jonas Russell and 
Tressie Paralee Porterfield. She retired from Dairy Pak following 39 years of 
service and was a member of Oconee Street United Methodist Church. 
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Lord and 
Stephens Chapel, EAST with Dr. Sheila Bookout and Rev. Herb Owen officiating. 
Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. 
Survivors include her children, Jerry Tate of Athens and Donna Tate of 
Winterville; grandchildren, Tracy (Marie) Tate of Athens, Susan (Gil) Smith of 
Tampa, Fla. and Larry (Hillary) Tate of Atlanta; great grandchildren, Derek 
Smith of Columbia, S.C. and Dylan Smith of Tampa, Fla. 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 
p.m. 
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association , P.O. 
Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011.
