Death of Mr. James Wages

Mr. James wages (sic), a highly esteemed citizen of Clarke county, died at his 
residence four miles from Athens on Tuesday night, after a lonh (sic) and painful 
illness.  Mr. Wages leaves a bereaved widow, one son and several daughters to 
mourn his death.  He leaves also two brothers and a large number of friends.  The 
funeral was conducted by Rev. E. D. Stone at Prospect church yesterday morning, a 
large crowd being present.  He had been a member of that church from his boyhood.
