J. Wages Last Friday morning at his home near this city, Mr. Andrew J. Wages, one of the best known and most highly respected men in this county, died suddenly from an attack of heart disease. Mr. Wages had hitched up his horse to a buggy and was preparing to come to Athens to do some trading. His wife noticed that the buggy stood empty by the gate for a long time, and after waiting quite a while for Mr. Wages to come and start to the city, she went out to see what was the matter. After searching a few minutes she found the body of her husband lying around the corner of one of the houses in the horse lot. He had been stricken with heart failure and had fallen in his tracks. He was dead when his wife reached his side.
