Obituary for William "Bill" Wall Jr. << Back to Obituary List Date Posted: Dec. 18, 2010 Obituary: William A. “Bill” Wall, Jr., died Thursday, December 16, 2010. A native of Oglethorpe County, he was a son of the late Ruth Hansford and William Alva Wall, Sr. Bill graduated from Oglethorpe County High School in 1953 and attended the University of Georgia. He served six years in the Air Force Reserve. Bill retired after thirty-three years from Westinghouse-ABB and then worked at Barnett Shoals Chevron and Lord and Stephens Funeral Homes. While working, he made many lasting and wonderful friendships. Working and biking were the hobbies he enjoyed most. Bill was an active member of Tuckston United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Carrie Pass Wall; three children, Cynthia K. Watson of Tifton, GA, Lisa T. Davis of Denver, CO, and Joseph S. Wall of Charlotte, NC and their beloved spouses. Bill has seven grandchildren, Anna Katherine Watson, William Benjamin Watson, Joseph Ryan Watson, Christian Alva Davis, Madeline Grace Wall, Caroline Rose Wall and Olivia Arrington Wall. He is also survived by his sister, Mable Wall West. He was preceded in death by his brother, David A. Wall. Funeral services will be Monday, December 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Tuckston United Methodist Church with Dr. Sheila Bookout officiating. Interment will be in Crawford Cemetery. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.
