MALITE J. WILLIAMS The Banner, Friday morning, June 8, 1915 Transcribed by Connie Epps Bond September 29, 2006 MRS. MALITE J. WILLIAMS DEAD At early hour this morning, After long illness, she Passed away (From Sunday’s Banner) This morning a little before two o’clock, just after the day had turned into the early summer Sabbath, the spirit of Mrs. Malite J. Williams, held lightly for months in a delicate body which had been weakened by illness of many months, “took its flight” to awake in the Sunday morning in the land beyond the suns and then in the heavens. Mrs. Williams was seventy-five years of age. She was preceded to the grave about ten years ago by her husband and children of hers, too have gone before her to await her coming, - Three sons alone are left – Messrs. J. Hillary Williams and Walter L. Williams of this city and Mr. J. Carl Williams, of Ft. Meyer, VA. One sister, Mrs. Bailey, died only three weeks ago in the house where Mrs. Williams was lying ill. Four sisters survive her, Mrs. Fannie Waters of Athens, Miss M. H. Porterfield, Mrs. Emma Hale of Watkinsville, and Mrs. Temple Blackmon of Atlanta. Several grandchildren, children of daughters, now deceased are also left. The funeral arrangements had not this morning been perfected definitely but the service wil be held from the residence on Baldwin street, Monday morning at 10 o’clock. Rev. D. J. W. Lynch, her pastor, will conduct the services and Rev. Geo Stone, a life long friend of the family, will assist. Mrs. Williams was a Christian woman- taking her Christianity into this practical affairs of the life of a “wife and mother”, and – proving true to every call of the Master.
