She was a native of Madison County. She was the daughter of the late Webb E. Brooks and Pearlie Mae Ogle Brooks of Statham. A 1960 graduate of Athens High School, she spent most of her adult life in Athens, where she was a long time employee of General Time Corporation and the University of Georgia. She was currently working from her home doing business marketing and sales for companies such as Athens Stone Casting. She had battle a bleeding disorder for much of her life but remained active and enjoyed life. She especially loved being outdoors and gardening. She had a strong faith in God and she was presently attending Victory Baptist Church. Se was admired and loved by her friends and she will be sorely missed. Survivors in addition to her mother include the father of her children I.J Wilson; three daughters Tammie Smith of Danielsville, GA. Tonya Linder of Commerce, GA and Trixie Ware of Watkinsville, GA; sister Joyce Richey of Hiawassee, GA, brother, Thomas brooks of Statham, GA, 7 grand children, and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Friday, December 22, at Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lary Townsend officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Thursday, December 21, at Bernstein Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Joshua Williams, Greg Ware, Ronnie Richey, Terry Williams, Justin Richey and Alfred Richey.
