Wilson, died Thursday, Sept. 25. A native of Floyd County, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Troutman. She had lived in Athens since 1909 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Bess Johnson Sunday School Class for many years. She was a past president of the Women’s Society of the First United Methodist Church, the Georgia Pharmaceutical Auxiliary, the University Woman’s Club and founder of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Oconee Hill Cemetery with Dr. Bevel Jones, the Re. Wesley Stephens and Dr. Cecil Myers officiating. Relatives and friends are requested to use the rear entrance to Oconee Hill Cemetery, off Carr Street, due to the closing of the front entrance for the Georgia-TCU game. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth L. (Grace) Waters, Athens; two sons, Troutman Wilson, Athens, and R.C Wilson Jr., Thomasville; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family request that in lieu of flowers, those so desiring may make contributions to the Building Fund of the First United Methodist Church or to the American Heart Association.
