Ran over by electric train on SAL Ry. (crushed left chest, broken __ arm & __ leg. Duration: 5 hours Additional Comments: Predeceased by no less than two children. Infant male (GA Death Certificate # 622) Jan. 1926, and Infant female (GA Death Certificate # 21319) Sept. 1926. Wife Birdie died Feb. 1931 (GA Death Certificate # 2858) leaving five minor children between the ages of (approximately) 3-13 (1930 Census, Clarke Co., GA, Dist 216) in care of stepdaughter Ruby. Youngest child, James G. born six months after elder James G.'s death, was adopted by neighbor and fellow mill worker George E. Baker and family. This child died Apr. 1932 and is buried near Mr. Baker and wife in the Colbert City Cemetery, Colbert, Madison Co., GA. From 1910, 1920 and 1930 Clarke Co., GA Census records, James G. had 11 living children in that 20 year span by two wives, the first being deceased at the time of 1910 Census.
