WILL RECORDS: Georgia } Clark County } In the name of God amen I Jacob Hogue of the State and County aforesaid being weak and infirm as to bodily Clark health but of sound and disposing mind and memory Blessed by God and knowing that it is appointed for man once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following (viz) First I recommend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian like manner nothing doubting and as to what worldly goods it has pleased God to bless me with I give and bequeath in the following manner (viz) It is my will and desire that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid. Whereas I have heretofore at or about the time of my first children marrying or leaving me and from time to time given to them such property as I deemed to be their equal share and portion of my Estate do now hereby confirm the said gift and several gifts to my said children (viz) Jonathan Hogue, Phebe Parks, Solomon Hogue, Alexander Hogue, James Hogue, Ann Porter, Polly Thomas, Effy Bowls, and Rebeckah Frost, all of which before mentioned gifts by me heretofore made with the present and future increase of the same I give and bequeath to my before mentioned children to them and their heirs for ever. I give and bequeath to my son Jonathan Hogue one tract of land two hundred 27 acres drawn by and granted to myself no 280 in the third district of Wilkinson County all of which land I give to my said son his heirs and assigns for ever. At my death I leave and deposit in the hands and special care of my son in law Johnson Frost and his wife Rebeckah two negros Lyudia and Daniel together with the balance of my estate of every kind and nature whatever all of which estate I leave in their hands for the support and maintenance care and clothing of my insane daughter Mourning Hogue during her life and at her death I give and bequeath the said two negroes Lyudia and Daniel together with the balance of all of the estate I have left in the hands of my son in law Johnson Frost and his wife Rebekah with the increase of the same I give to my said son in law and his wife Rebekah to them and their heirs for ever. And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint Edward L. Thomas and Johnson Frost my whole and sole executors to this my last will and testament hereby utterly revoking all others in witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand and affixed my seal this seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and Seventeen. It is my desire that no apprisement of my estate be made.
