Will of John Osburn 06 Jun 1835 Clarke County, GA Clarke Co., GA, Will Book B, pp. 148-149 Georgia Clark Cty In the name of God, Amen. I John Osburn of the County & State aforesaid being very weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory, thanks be to Almighty God, do make & constitute this my last will & testament. Item 1st I give unto Almighty God my soul who gave & my body to the dust from whence it was taken to be buried in a plain decent manner. 2nd It is my wish & desire that my just debts be paid out of my property, in the first place. 3rd I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Martha Osburn three hundred dollars worth of property or money which ever she may prefer. 3rd [sic] I give & bequeath unto my grandson John Elder twenty five dollars in money to be paid him out of the sale of my property. 4th I give & bequeath unto my daughter Nancy Osburn half as much more as any of the rest of my children may have after the sale of my property. 5th It is my wish & desire that all my property be kept together untill the present crop is finished & then it is my wish that the crop together with all my property be sold both real & personal. 6th It is my wish & desire that in the first place after the sale of my property that the following children have the sum of seventy five dollars each for the purpose of buying them a horse, as my other children have recd a horse each worth that amt viz, John Osburn, Francis & Eliza Osburn. Item 7th It is my wish & desire that the residue of the money arising from the sale of my property be equally divided between my wife Martha Osburn & all my children viz, Charlott Owens [?] Nancy Osburn, Martha [McKee ? McRee ?], Nicholas Osburn, John, Eliza & Francis Osburn. Item 8th I do appoint my friend Isma [?] W. Wooldridge & my son Nicholas Osburn my executors to this my last will & testament.
