Original Indian name of Fort Gaines
The following Indian name for the town of Fort Gaines, (and originally used
by the Indians, ) was given by Gen. A. C. Gordon, who was adopted into the
tribe of Creek Indinas in the year eighteen hundred and twenty-three, (1823)

A-con-hollo-way  Tal-lo-fa.  (Highland town.)
