Carolyn Strickland 

Johnson

FORT GAINES 
Carolyn Strickland Johnson, 81, of Fort Gaines, died Saturday, May 18, 2002, 
at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

The graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Bethel
Baptist Church Cemetery near Cuthbert. The Revs. Wayne Johnson and Frank Hughes 
will officiate.

Mrs. Johnson was born February 23, 1921, daughter of the late William Sanford 
Strickland and Nannie Lee Laviner Strickland. She was a homemaker and a member 
of the New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Bruce Johnson of Gainesville, and Wayne 
Johnson of Georgetown, and two grandchildren.
