Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, December 28th, 2004, at 10:00am, from Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Hughes and the Rev. Douglas McDonals officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Crapps was bom January 31st, 1924, a son of the late Alex S. Crapps and Clifford Shaw Crapps. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where he was a Deacon for 50 years, was employed in construction for most of his adult life, loved his family and friends, enjoyed traveling, gardening, and helping others. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, George Will, Marvin, and Lyle Crapps, and a sister, Fannie Mae Martin. Survivors include his wife, Merilym P. Crapps of Fort Gaines, a daughter, Kathy Collier of Fort Gaines, a son, Hill Crapps, and his wife Sandra, of Geneva, AL; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The family received friends at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church following the service.
