Fort Gaines Sentinel 5 June 1903 [Fort Gaines, Clay Co GA]

"Mrs. Sallie McLendon was summoned by wire to Eufaula Saturday to the bed side 
of her father, Capt. James Evans. We have learned that Mr. Evans died Tuesday 
and was buried the following day. Capt. Evans was well known in Fort Gaines 
where he once lived and his many friends here are grieved to hear of his death."
