After dinner they started to return home, not experiencing any discomforts or sickness, when, after going some few miles, one member of the family, a little girl, became violently ill. One after another they became desperately ill, until the whole family, together with a young Mr. Gentry, who was visiting from Alabama. When they reached home in the afternoon, they were all in a desperate condition, and but for the timely appearance and aid of a Mr. Milner, they would all have doubless died. Dr. W. W. Calhoun, of Bluffton, was procured in time and Mr. Millions' family was relieved somewhat, but the young man died on Monday afternoon. It is supposed that either ptomaine poisionising, the result of eating some meat at the dinner Sunday, or some water from an old well on the road side, was the cause of the sickness and death."
