Her remains were interred in the cemetery here Sunday afternoon at six o'clock, the burial services being conducted by Rev. G. R. Bisby, pastor of the Baptist church, of which the deceased was a devoted member. Besides her husband and other immediate relatives, a very large concourse of sympathizing friends followed the remains to their last resting place. The services at the grave, including the beautiful and touching songs were most impressive. Mrs. Hammond was known by most all our people, and those who knew her best loved her most for the beautiful traits of character she developed as a young lady, wife, mother, and Christian. She had been married to Mr. George Hammond only about two years, and leaves, besides the husband, mother and devoted sister, a baby boy of about eight months." ...[two paragraphs of sentiment & poem]... "Among those who accompanied the remains here from Dothan were the following relatives of the husband of the deceased: Mr. T. W. Hammond, father; Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Hammond, brother and his wife; Mrs. Joe N. Daniell, sister, all of Leary; and Miss Ruth Crawford, a friend from Dothan. Mrs. Lucy Adams of Macon, one among the fondest friends of the deceased, was also present, and she and Miss Mabel Kelley accompanied the funeral party back to Dothan, returning to Fort yesterday afternoon."
