S. Jones took its flight to the Eternal City, after the body had undergone a prolonged agony here for more than two weeks. A large concourse of relatives and friends followed the remains to the cemetery, where they were interred at 4 o’clock on the afternoon of the same day, Rev. Mr. Corley, of Colomokee, officiating. Mrs. Jones leaves, besides a devoted husband and several children, a number of other relatives, to mourn a loved one gone before. The writer had the pleasure of having known this good woman personally, and can attest that, besides being a consistent member of the Baptist church, was a most estimable lady in all that goes to make up a patient christian character. The sympathies of our entire people will go out to the bereaved ones.
