Mrs. John R. Irwin died Sunday morning after a several weeks' illness at her home on Lee street. The sad event came as a great shock to the loved ones and friends who were at her bedside and to the community in which she had won for herself the love and esteem of all with whom she came in contact. The interment took place Monday afternoon in Cedar Hill cemetery after the conclusion of appropriate and inpressive services at the home, a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends following the body to its last resting place. Mrs. Irwin was a sweet Christian character and a member of the Presbyterian church, and the funeral ceremony was conducted by Rev. J. W. Quarterman, her pastor. Mrs. Irwin was before her marriage Miss Minnie Findlay of Macon, and she was highly esteemed in that city by a host of friends, who knew her as a young lady. Up to three years ago, at which time they moved to Dawson, the family lived in Fort Gaines, and the news of her death was received with great sorrow in that town by the many who know and loved her. She is survived by a husband and six children, to whom the condolence of their numerous friends are extended in their great grief.---Dawson News"
