"After a brief illness of pneumonia, Mrs. Redding, mother of Dr. C. E. Redding, died at the home of the latter in Fort Gaines, last Saturday morning. Mrs. Redding was about 70 years of age, and came to Fort Gaines from Warren county, some years ago. She has other relatives still in that portion of the state. The illness of Dr. Redding and other members of his family make this death a peculiarly one, as almost immediately following the illness and death of little Mary Redding, daughter of Dr. Redding aged 9 years, on Monday afternoon. The remains of Mrs. Redding were sent to Berner, Monroe County, on last Sunday, accompanied by Mr. Idus Belisle, at which place they were met and carried to Cabiness and interred. The funeral exercises of little Mary were conducted Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Mr. Ward, of Henry county, Ala, after which the little body was deposited in the cemetery here. The entire community is in deep sympathy with the stricken family. We are glad to be able to state that the other members of the family who have been desperately ill, are now on the road to recovery."
