H. Shaw, one of the oldest citizens of the county had passed away at his home near Pecan, his death occuring about 7 o'clock that evening. Mr. Shaw was about 80 years of age and had been in ill health for some time consequent upon the infirmities of old age, and his death was not unexpected by those attending him. He had been a citizen of the county near all his life and had accumulated a very comfortable estate. He is survived by a wife and six children, of the latter Messrs. J. A., W. F. and H. M. Shaw and Mrs. Geo. Sheppard, live in Clay county, and Mr. John Shaw and Mrs. D. Howard live in Blakely and Mr. Ben. Shaw lives in Dothan, Ala. The condolence of the Sentinel are extended the bereaved relatives of the deceased."
