DOTHAN EAGLE
Mary Williams Grimsley of Abbeville, and a former resident of Fort Gaines, 
Ga., died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at Dogwood Manor in Abbeville. She was 83.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. EST today, Sept. 8, in 
New Park Cemetery in Fort Gaines with the Rev. Ray Reiley officiating. The 
family will receive friends at the grave site 45 minutes before service.

Mrs. Grimsley was born Aug. 26, 1923, in Clay County, Ga., daughter of the 
late Alpha Joel Williams and Mamie Grimsley Williams. She was a member of 
Shorterville Baptist Church and was married to the late William "Bill"Crawford 
Grimsley. 

She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Williams and Jimmy Williams, 
and three sisters, Neal Hobbs, Ruth Best and Sarah Gormley.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews; her friends and caregivers, 
Betty and Bobby Rowland, of Newville; and a goddaughter, Sandee Brazelle 
Moreland.
