ATLANTA CONSTITUTION
George O. Hartley, Sr. George O. Hartley, Sr. of Ft. Gaines, GA died November 
20, 2009, at his residence. He was 82. Funeral services will be conducted on 
Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. EST from Mt. Gilead Baptist church near 
Ft. Gaines, GA with the Rev. Frank Hughes officiating. Interment will follow 
in the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hartley was born on October 19, 
1927, in Ft. Gaines, GA, son of the late Frank Gunn Hartley and Beatrice Coran 
Hartley. He was a General Building Contractor, a veteran of World War II, and 
a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. Mr. Hartley was preceded in death 
by his wife, Carolyn Crozier Hartley. Survivors include two sons, George O. 
Hartley, Jr. (Starla) and Michael Hartley (Jackie) both of Ft. Gaines; six 
grandchildren, Carolyn Hartley, Lori Williams, Chris Hartley, Frank Hartley, 
Jake Adams, and Tyler Adams; and a special friend, Merilyn Crapps. Memorials 
may be made to the Wiregrass Hospice of Eufaula, 821 W. Washington St.,
