GAINES SENTINEL, 2/28/1896 SINKS INTO SILENT SLEEP AFTER ONE WEEK OF SUFFERING T After one week of suffering the sad end comes, and the soul of Mrs. Mollie Horne wings itself on high. She falls to sleep Tuesday morning. The world’s master poet has said that the, best men are moulded out of many faults, and a later one than he comforted the despairing with the pledge that men may rise on stepping stones of their dead selves to higher things. But a good women is mouled out of many virtues aud naugh but the angels’ wings can find for her a higher plane. So it Was when the Angel of Death touched the chords of life and chilledthe heart of that sainted woman, Mrs. Mollie Home . Shortly before 1 o ’clock the sweet spirit took its flight to join those she loved, who waited her coming on high. the death of this good woman brings tears of sorrow to all for had she an enemy on earth that one has never spoken aught of her. in health her arm was beneath the form of the sick and her sympathies ever extended to those in distress, and oft upon the humble brown of the unfortunate out east she was great enough to plant the kiss of human sympathy. it was not in vain, this short, sweet life, judging by any creed; by the sternest of philosphies it was rounded and complete; it held love, faith, and peace; it was full of victories won; it was resplendent with good deeds and tender ministries; it was radiant with a perfect trust. she had finished her task and fell asleep as guileless as a child. At 10 oclock Wednesday morning all that was mortal of this pure true and noble Christian woman was laid to rest beneath the beautiful oaks in bethel cemetery. the burial ceremony was conducted by Rev J.E. dykes in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends who had gathered to pay the last sad tribute to one who though dead, must ever leave the impress of her superior womanliness upon this community.
