BRUTON MORTUARY
FORT GAINES — Evelyn Puckett Killingsworth of Ft. Gaines, a long time social 
and civic leader of Southwest Georgia passed away Sunday, March 7, 2004, in 
Ft. Gaines.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ft. Gaines Baptist 
Church with the Rev. Jeff Hines officiating. Interment will be in the family 
plot in New Park Cemetery.

"Miss Evelyn" as she was called by all that knew her was the widow of a former 
Georgia State Representative and Senator Albert S. Killingsworth. She was bom 
in Putney, GA, daughter of the late Charlie and Kitty Best Puckett. She was a 
member of Ft. Gaines Garden Club, an active member of Ft. Gaines Baptist 
Church, the PTA and other organizations, often being an office holder. She 
opened Evelyn's Flower Shop in 1950 and operated it until her health failed. 
She was a member of the FTD and Southwest Georgia Florist Association. She 
conducted Design schools and Convention Planning. Mss Evelyn was the recipient 
of the First S.W. Georgia Florist Hall of Fame Award.

Survivors include two sons, Albert S. Killingsworth Jr. and his wife, 
Elizabeth of Southern Shores, NC, and C. Walton Killingsworth of Ft. Gaines; 
six grandchildren, A. S. Killingsworth III and wife, Betty Ann, Eve Murphy and 
husband, Michael, Dorothy Toolan and husband, Christopher, Walton 
Killingsworth Jr. and wife, Tonya, Amy Killingsworth and Mtch Killingsworth; 
six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Frank Best Puckett of Macon.
