She was returning home from a visit to a neighbor and suffered a heart attack on her way home dying before reaching the house. She was born in Schley County July 18, 1871 and lived there until she was 20 years old, then moved to Clay County where she had made her home since that time. She was the sister of Mrs. Brooks and had made her home with her since the death of her father several years ago. Miss Meadows was a fine Christian character and will be missed by many friends and relatives. She was Buried Monday afternoon at Enterprise Church. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor. (daughter of Leonidas and Louisa Terry Meadows, this is my notation) In Memoriam Miss Emma Meadows was born July the 18th, 1871 in Schley County, Georgia, died Feb 26th 1939 in Clay County, Georgia. She joined the Missionary Baptist Church in Tazewell, Marion County Georgia, 1887. She was a faithful member of Enterprise Baptist for 35 years and attended every service when she could. It is with bereaved hearts that we offer this tribute of love to our beloved sister, Emma Meadows. She has gone to happier life to be with her Savior whom she loved and served as best she could. God in His infinite wisdom removed suddenly from our midst Sister Emma Meadows. Therefore be it resolved by Enterprise Baptist Church: First: That we extend our heartfeld condolence to her bereaved relatives. Second: That our loss is heaven's gain; we therefore submit to the will of Him who is too good to be unkind and too wise to make mistakes. third: That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the Edison and Fort Gaines Papers for publication and a copy be sent to the family. Meadows was the wife of Leonidas I. Meadows who was the son of Vincent T. and Martha King Meadows of Marion, Troup and Taylor Counties. She was Lousia Terry daughter of John and Elizabeth Terry. Emma Meadows was the daughter of Leonidas and Louisa Terry Meadows. She never married.] Leonidas was the brother of Mary Ann Meadows Chapman wife of Martin D. Chapman and Martha Frances Meadows Chapman wife of Abner Chapman. Martha and Abner moved to Texas. [The spelling is just like it was in the obit. And worded like the original obit.]
