C. Hodges Died Last Thursday Morning. Mr. Peter Colduitt [sic] Hodges, a well known citizen living in Clay county about six miles from Edison, died last Wednesday night. Mr. Hodges has been in poor health for several years, the immediate cause of his death being heart trouble, being confined to his bed about a week before his death. The deceased was a very successful and well to do farmer, and enjoyed the friendship of a large number of our people who were grived [sic] to learn of his death. The funeral services were held Friday morning and the body laid to rest in the Mars Hill cemetery in the presence of a crowd of friends and relatives. The deceased is survived by wife and four children, viz: Mrs. K. N. Sanders, Mrs. R. E. Joiner, Mrs. P. B. Rish, and Miss Lucile Hodge [sic], and two brothers, Mrssrs K. J. and W. M. Hodge [sic], of Bluffton. The bereved [sic] have the sympathy of al in the loss of a devoted husband, father and brother, and the community in the loss of a good neighbor and citizen.
