Fain Passes After Long Life Mrs. E. Fain , one of the oldest and best known women of this section died early Saturday morning from an illness of many months due chiefly to infirmities of old age. She was born in South Carolina Jan 19th, 1843, and was a little over 83 years of age when death claimed her. She moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison, to Clay county, her father having purchased the Harrison Mill place when a very young girl. In the sixties she married Mr. E. Fain, who preceded her to the grave about 18 years. To this union were born ten children, six boys and four girls, all of whom lived to be grown. Surviving Mrs. Fain are four children, Mr. A. P. Fain, of Albany; Mrs. S. D. Mills, of Homestead, Fla.; Mrs. M. J. Ward and Mrs. B. D. Jones, of near Edison. For the past twelve or fourteen years Mrs. Fain has been living with her daughter, Mrs. Jones, where everything possible was done for her in her last years on this earth. Mrs. Fain has been confined to her bed many months and while everything possible was done she gradually grew worse until death relieved her of suffering. She was a sister of Elder A. J. Harrison, of South Carolina; William, Ulmer and J. W. Harrison, of Bluffton, Ga.; Mrs. Sallie McCord; Mrs. Mattie Killingsworth, Mrs. Sula Fain and Mrs. E. S. Jones, all of whom passed away prior to her death. She was the last of the immediate family of Harrison’s who have long been identified in the community around Edison and Bluffton, and those who knew her best state that she was one of the finest and noblest women they had ever met. Besides her childen she is mourned by many grand-children, great-grandchildren, and other close relatives and life-long friends who are grieved in losing her.
