ATLANTA CONSTITUTION
Helen Lindsey Plowden, 97, a former resident of Ft. Gaines and Atlanta, died 
October 27, 2004 in Austell. Graveside Funeral Services will be Saturday at 
1:00 PM in New Park Cemetery, Ft. Gaines, with Rev. Jeff Hines officiating. 
Mrs. Plowden was born April 3, 1907 in Eufaula, AL; daughter of the late 
George Oscar Lindsey and Eliska Newton Lindsey. She was preceded in death by 
her husband of 61 years, Leonard Dale Plowden, was a member of Wieuca Baptist 
Church, was a graduate of Georgia-Alabama Business College of Macon and was a 
retired secretary for the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include a daughter, Lois 
P. Phillips, Marietta; granddaughter, Jaye D. Smith, Alpharetta; 2 great-
grandchildren, Shannon Kilbourn of Alpharetta and Shawn Kilbourn of New Bern, 
NC. Lunsford, Funeral Home, Cuthbert, GA 229-732-2148
