CUTHBERT — Irene Lindsey Powell. 89, of Fort Gaines died December 10, 2005. at 
Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca, SC.

Funeral services will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist 
Church near Ft. Gaines. The Rev. Randy Stokes will officiate with interment in 
the church cemetery.

Mrs Powell was born February 6. 1916. in Clay County, daughter of the late 
Charlie Crawford Lindsey and Leila Mae Lindsey. A homemaker. Mrs Powell was a 
member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where she was church pianist for many 
years. She was married to the late John Paul Powell

Survivors include three sons. Charles Powell and Jerry Powell of Ft. Gaines 
and Jackie Wayne Powell of Pensacola, FL; three daughters, Paula Moore of 
Seneca, SC, Jan McAllister of Duluth and Brenda Robertson of Norman, OK; 14 
grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at 
Lunsford Funeral Home.
