FORT GAINES.  CLAY COUNTY COURTHOUSE LOCATED ON WASHINGTON STREET.  THIS IS 
THE SECOND COUNTY COURTHOUSE.  IT WAS BUILT IN THE EARLY 1870S.  THE 
COURTHOUSE WAS RESTORED IN 1970 AND IS STILL IN USE TODAY.  DATE OF THE 
PHOTOGRAPH IS UNKNOWN.  HELD BY GEORGIA ARCHIVES.
