Henry Clay Bridge across the Chattahoochee River connects Clay County, Georgia with Henry County, Alabama. This third bridge replaced a much older covered bridge. The contract for the bridge was awarded to the firm of Mallory and Nash of Macon, Ga. The bridge was of steel and was the cantilever type. The dedication of the bridge was on Dec. 18, 1925. The Henry Clay Bridge has since been replaced by an even more modern bridge, one wide enough for four lanes of traffic.
