Birdsong and Richard Thornton securities are held and firmly bound unto the Ordinary for said county and his successors in office in the just sum of Two thousand dollars payable to said Susan McLeroy, Parris M. Birdsong and Richard Thornton or either of them, their heirs, Executors, Administrators or assigns jointly and Severally; to be void on condition that the said Susan McLeroy shall do and perform all duties of Guardianship for the persons and property of James, Emma B., Mary Anna, Emalee and Adah McLeroy orphans of William McLeroy, as the law requires of her, otherwise to remain in full force, power and virtue. McLeroy applied to the court for leave to sell lot of land number (??) In the 7th district of Clay County. His wife, Nelley Pate, had one undivided interest in the same, and James McLeroy another, and said minor wards viz= Emma B., Marianna, Eula and Ada McLeroy each a share, so that the same cannot be equitably divided without a sale= and it further appearing that said wards are destitute of any other means to defray their current expenses. Court granted leave to sell.
