As he went by Saturday morning, (he) looked and the foder was gone. Hollis asked Madison if somebody had stolen the foder (because) it was not there. Eula heard Hollis ask Matt and Mat said, no. As Hollis went on closer to the bridge (he) found a bundle of foder and took it to Mrs Tylers and told her that he got it down near the bridge. (I) asked "when was that, Hollis?" (He said), "(it) was on Saturday morning. I know, (because) Paw went to meeting that day and that was the 2nd day of Sept 1916." Both Hollis & Ella Tyler were at Mr Stanley's house when they told this. (They or I) went to the buggy house where the foder was and saw fresh wagon tracks and no foder (was) there. Herrington and Madison was there tieing off foder that they (had) pulled the same day. Hollis told me that afterward, too. (I) asked miss Tyler and the boys (if) they could tell me about it and the wagon business, what she saw and knew about it, who went there with a wagon & just made the tracks where he saw the wagon tracks (in front of the) buggy house. (The tracks were made) fresh (that) same Saturday morning (be)fore Paw went to the meeting (on) 2 Sep 1916. The boys (said that they) went by Matt's the 1st of September late on Friday evening and saw the foder in the buggy house. (When they met) the 2nd of September, Hollis & Eula Tyler saw both (of) the wagon tracks and Hollis went to (the) buggy house where (he) saw the foder and found (that the foder) was gone. Saturday morning as Hollis went to Tyler's to help Tyler work with (his) foder, Tyler's hand, Matt, and Andrew Herrington was there at Tylers tieing off foder that they had both pulled together. Hollis said to Matt Wilson, "(have one of you) stolen the foder out of the buggy house, (because it's) gone?" Matt (told) him & Eula Tyler (what they were tieing) was not stolen and that was Saturday. ---------------------------------------- Copyright © 2002 by Debbie Hulsey Zouras.
