The Henry County Weekly January 15, 1897
     Turner Johnson, a Clayton County Negro, is a record breaker in marriages 
and has also done something for his country in the way of children. He is 71 
years old; has been married 21 times, all of his wives being dead with the 
present exception, who is just 18 years old, and is the father of 42 children. 
Nothing in history compares to this.
