He was born July 28, 1941 in Oakwood, Ga. Following graduation from the University of Georgia in 1963, he served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as manager of internal auditing for Delta Airlines for 29 years before retiring in 1995. From 1976-81, he served as Councilman, the mayor of the City of Morrow. For the last five years, he worked diligently from January through April at the Townsend Tax Service in Morrow with hundreds of regular customers who insisted no one else but "Mr. Crowe" do their taxes. Mr. Crowe was a avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. He enjoyed babysitting his daughter's Lhaso Apso puppies, eating lobster and watching the Atlanta Braves season after season. As a child, he worked at a grocery store in Gainesville, where he regularly carried the groceries of baseball legend Ty Cobb. He was a devoted and loving father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is the son of the late Hoyt William Crowe and Lucille Hutchins Crowe of Oakwood, Ga. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 at Oakwood City Cemetery in Oakwood, Ga. Survivors include his wife Sally Ann Crowe of Jonesboro; daughters Caroline Elisabeth Crowe of Sandy Springs and Jennifer Ann Crowe of Atlanta; sisters Loretta Orr of Cumming and Gloria Lucinda Thornton of Duluth; and nephews Jeff and Alex Thornton and Darren and Ryan Orr.
