Stephenson, Jr. January 2002 Georgia Clayton County I James H. Chapman of said State and County being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last will and testament - 1st I give and bequeath and devise to my son James A. Chapman the following property to wit: Ninety two acres of land more or less situated lying and being in the 12th District of __________ Henry now Clayton County and being the East half of Lot No 174 one Hundred and Seventy four (except one half acre described in deed made by me to the County authorities of Clayton County where the Justice Court is now held) ____ four acres heretofore deeded to W. L. Gilbert and now owned by him being about Six acres more or less) to his own proper use upon the following conditions: The said James A. Chapman has given certain promissory notes amounting to $960.00 nine hundred and sixty dollars payable as follows: $192.00 Due 25th December 1896 $192.00 “ “ “ “ 1897 192.00 “ “ “ “ 1898 192.00 “ “ “ “ 1899 192.00 “ “ “ “ 1900 192.00 The said notes to draw interest at the rate of five and one fourth percent per annum (51/4) upon the pay of the above described note the land above described to be the property of the said James A. Chapman and in case he should pay part of said note and from any unavoidable cause should be prevented from paying the remainder then those he pays shall be charged up in his favor against my estate. 2nd I desire that at my death after all expenses are paid the proceeds of all my personal property and effects shall be equally divided between my children as follows, W. B. Chapman, Nancy A. Wells, Narcissus V. Barton, J. H. Chapman, Jr., Lizzie P. Toney, Everline C. Chapman, James A. Chapman, and A. V. Furman. After first giving E. C. Chapman one hundred and twenty dollars and Nancy Wells and Lizzie Toney twenty dollars each. 3rd I hereby constitute and appoint my son John H. Chapman as executor of this my last will and testament this 24th Nov. 1894. James H. Chapman Signed, sealed, declared and published by James H. Chapman as his last will and testament in the presence of us the subscribers who subscribed our names hereto in the presence of said testator at his insistence and request and of each other the signing on our presence and we signing in his presence.
