Mrs. Cribbs was born Aug. 2, 1929 in Hamilton County, FL to the late Dennis Cribbs and Rosebell McClain Cribbs and lived in Clinch County most of her life. She was a retired school bus driver, janitor, homemaker, seamstress, and an ordained minister and Mother of the Higher Heights Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isom Dewey Cribbs; two sons, Melvin Allen Cribbs and Elton Cribbs, one sister, Grace Cribbs Tomlinson, five Brothers, Houston Cribbs, Charles Frank Cribbs, Price Cribbs, Dennis W. Cribbs and Emory Isom Cribbs. Survivors are three daughters, Mary Alice Cribbs Guess, husband Bobby, Pearson, Nellouise Cribbs Ellis and Ima Jean Cribbs Knowles, husband, Merle, Fargo; four sons, Dewey Allen Cribbs, wife, Wesley Jane, James Elmer Cribbs, wife, Wanda and Willard Cribbs, wife Ruth all of Jasper and Dennis Lamar Cribbs, wife Karen, Lakeland; three sisters, Nettie Alma Cribbs Taylor, Fargo, Rosa Bell Cribbs, MacClenny, FL and Janell Cribbs Padgett, Palatka, FL; forty two grandchildren, sixty three great grandchildren, fifteen great-great- grandchildren and a number of other nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Cribbs were held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 4 p.m. from the Higher Heights Church in Fargo. Officiating was Rev. Audy Jordan and Rev. Tom Studstill. Interment was in the Ramah Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Jody Guess, Jason Cribbs, Isom Allen Cribbs, Mark Cribbs, Jerome Ellis, Eric McClaine, Wayne Cribbs and Samson Cribbs. Mrs. Sara Deese sang, "Go Rest High On That Mountain" and "I Want Us To Be Together In Heaven," Tillman Willis sang "Purple Robe" and W.G. Smith sang "Beulah Land." Roundtree Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
