Born September 26, 1946, in Columbus to the late Robert Jerry and Bessie Mae Boutwell Johnson, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years. During active duty, he spent 14-1/2 years in Arabia, five years at Moody Air Force B Base and time at McDeal Air Force Base; Thailand Holloman N.M., Hongu, Germany, C Colorado Springs, CO, Bettsbridge, Germany, Luke Air Force Base, Phoenix City, A AL and Holloman, NM. He was also employed by Tim Co. AirDynamics of Lake City, F FL. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry E. "PeeWee" Johnson and R Robert L. "Bit" Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Betty Brown Johnson of Homerville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Toni and Johnny Holbrook of Nashville and Teresa and Mike Corbitt of Manor; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Niecey Johnson; a sister and brother-in-law, Geretha J. and David L. Greer of Kingsport, TN; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry L. Johnson of Salem, AL, Charles E. and Ann Johnson of Spring Hill, TN; Beatrice Johnson of Seffner, FL, Marcella Johnson of Tamps, FL; seven grandchildren and spouses; Eddie and Buffy Holbrook of Nashville, Crystal and Bruce Clisby of Tampa, FL, Becky Holbrook of Nashville, Jennifer and Austin Deloach of Homerville, Tiffney and Justin Stabling of Waycross, Michael and Christy Corbitt of Manor, Josh Lee of Dupont; seven great-grandchildren, Alora Gail Deloach, Kenlee Deloach, Hoss Holbrook, Joci Holbrook, Drew Starling, Paris Starling, Gracie Corbitt, several other relatives. Funeral services were held July 15, at 4 p.m. at Homerville Free Will Baptist Church. Interment was in North Cemetery of DuPont.
